In an great finish the Chicago Rastafarians won in dramatic fashion over the
Columbus Crowd by a score of 4 to 3 at Minute Maid Field.
Chicago had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Adam Everett led off and started the attack as he
laced a base-knock. Everett was safe at second on a stolen base. Ryan Freel
then drew a walk. David Dejesus followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Jason Kendall stepped into the box and slapped a one-base hit making Chicago
the winners and sending the 44,464 fans home happy. Chicago had just 6 hits
for the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Elmer Dessens(2-2) who went 3 innings, allowing no
runs. Ron Villone(2-2) was the loser in relief. 'That was exciting!,'
Kendall said. 'I would have paid money to watch this one.'
